When I start a new map I begin by reading and researching the county.
I love finding out new things through my research. I discovered a beautiful chapel in Leitrim called The Costello Chapel which was built by a wealthy local merchant, as a memorial for his wife, Mary Josephine Costello, who died aged 46 or 47. He was devoted to her and commissioned the chapel as her final resting place.
It is compared to a miniature Irish version of the Taj Mahal because it was built as a monument to a husband's love for his wife. Also it is one of the smallest chapels in the world!
I can't wait to check it out myself. It's in Carrick on Shannon town.
